Straight answers to the questions we get asked at every estimate: which system suits which space, what things actually cost, and why surface prep decides the outcome.

## Choosing a Floor System

Six decisions cover most projects. Each one links through to the service page where we explain it in full.

### Epoxy or polyaspartic for a garage?

Epoxy gives body and adhesion, polyaspartic cures faster and holds color better under UV. Most of our garage floors use both: an epoxy basecoat with a polyaspartic or polyurethane topcoat.

### Coating or polished concrete?

A coating adds a resin layer and lets you pick a color. Polishing refines the slab itself, so there is no film to delaminate and the floor can last 20+ years. Slab condition usually decides it.

### What does a floor cost per square foot?

Grind and seal runs about $2 to $6, residential coatings $3 to $12, and industrial systems $4 to $14 depending on thickness and exposure. Slab repair and moisture mitigation move the number.

### What does surface prep actually involve?

Planetary diamond grinding to a CSP 2-3 profile, crack routing and filling, spall repair and moisture testing. It is the step that decides whether a coating lasts fifteen years or fifteen months.

### Will an Oregon basement slab hold a coating?

Only if the moisture readings allow it. We test moisture vapor emission before quoting anything below grade and specify a mitigating primer when it is needed.

### Can worn or cracked concrete be saved?

Usually. An overlay rebuilds a failed surface and stain gives it color, which costs far less than demolition and a new pour and takes days rather than weeks.

General FAQs

## Questions We Get at Every Estimate

### How long does an epoxy garage floor take to install?

Most residential garage coatings are fully installed in 1 to 2 days. Plan on roughly 48 hours of curing before parking a vehicle on the new floor.

### Do you prep the concrete before coating?

Yes. Every project starts with mechanical surface prep, meaning diamond grinding to the right concrete surface profile plus crack repair. This is the single biggest factor in whether a coating lasts, so we never skip it.

### Are your products safe and low-odor?

We use premium, low-odor, low-VOC epoxy and polyaspartic products, which keeps fumes down and lets you return to your space sooner than with traditional coatings.

### How long do your floors last?

With proper maintenance, our epoxy systems are built to last 15+ years and polished concrete floors can last 20+ years.

### Do you serve areas outside Eugene, like Springfield or Corvallis?

Yes. We're based at 1121 Bailey Hill Rd in Eugene and serve Lane County including Springfield, Coburg, Creswell and Junction City, plus Corvallis in Benton County and Albany and Lebanon in Linn County.

### How do I get a quote?

Request an estimate through our online form or call 541-203-3668. We offer prompt, transparent quoting and free in-home consultations.

### Will the coating handle hot tire pickup and oil?

Yes. Our professional polyaspartic and epoxy systems are engineered to resist hot tire pickup, oil and chemicals, a common failure point for cheap DIY kits.

### Are epoxy countertops food-safe?

Once fully cured, our epoxy countertops are food-safe, non-toxic, non-porous, and heat and chemical resistant, making them well suited to kitchens and bars.
